The corrosion resistance of 316L Mod stainless steel sheet is outstanding. 316L UG stainless steel has excellent resistance to a wide range of aggressive media including chloride environments, acids, and alkalis. The molybdenum content of 316L Urea Grade sheet enhances protection against pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking (SCC), making it ideal for applications in corrosive environments.
Urea 316L Mod Thermal Performance
The thermal conductivity of ASTM A240 UNS S31603 stainless steel plate sheet is impressive and helps in heat exchangers and condensers. It also has a specific heat capacity of around 500 J/kg K, contributing to its ability to withstand thermal fluctuations.
Made of 316L Mod Stainless Steel
After uniform heat treatment, the workpiece should be thermoformed in the temperature range 1200-950°C (2732-1742°F). A final full annealing temperature is required to obtain the desired microstructure and is performed at 1120°-1180°C (2048-2156°F) followed by water quenching. Due to its fully austenitic microstructure, the alloy can be cold-formed without problems. UREA 316L modified grade must be used in pickling and passivation conditions. The pickling treatment can be performed at room temperature (several hours) or about 20 minutes with a nitro hydrofluoric acid bath (10-20% HN03 - 1.5-5% HF). 10-20% H2SO4 - 1.5-5% HF pickling at 60°C (140°F) may also be used.

Welding and fabricating 316L Mod stainless steel plates is relatively easy. It can be welded using common techniques such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). Its low carbon content minimizes the risk of sensitization and subsequent intergranular corrosion. Furthermore, this alloy exhibits good machinability, enabling an efficient manufacturing process. 316L Mod Stainless Steel Sheet offers excellent machinability and can be easily formed into desired shapes and sizes.
