Description

321 Stainless Steel Plate is a high-quality stainless steel plate that is widely used in various industries. It is also known as Stainless Steel 321 Plate, SS 321 Plate, or AISI 321 Stainless Steel. This stainless steel plate is manufactured in compliance with ASTM A240 and ASME SA240 standards. It has a chemical composition that includes chromium, nickel, and titanium, which provides excellent corrosion resistance and high strength.
The DIN 1.4541 Stainless Steel Plate is annealed, which improves its machinability and formability. It also has a smooth surface finish and is available in various sizes and thicknesses. The 321 Stainless Steel Sheet and Strip are other forms of this stainless steel grade that are used for different applications.
321 Stainless Steel Coil is commonly used for making heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and other equipment in the chemical, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical industries. It is also suitable for high-temperature applications due to its excellent heat resistance. The SS 321 2B Finish Sheet has a smooth, reflective surface finish and is often used in decorative applications.
Both SS 321 Cold Rolled Plates and SS 321 Hot Rolled Plates are available, depending on the specific requirements of the project. The cold-rolled plates offer a higher degree of dimensional accuracy and surface finish, while the hot-rolled plates are more suitable for applications that require shaping and forming.
321 Stainless Steel Diamond Plate is a textured plate with raised diamond patterns, providing enhanced traction and slip resistance. It is commonly used in industrial flooring and walkways. The price per kg of 321 Stainless Steel varies depending on market conditions, quantity, and other factors.

The 321 stainless steel plate is part of the austenitic stainless steel family and is comprised of chromium, nickel, and titanium. It is a variant of the popular 304 grade with the addition of a titanium stabilizer. This reinforcement makes the 321 alloy highly resistant to cracking and corrosion even in extreme high-temperature environments. When compared to the 304 grade, the 321 stainless steel plate can withstand temperatures of up to 900°C. This makes it an excellent choice for high-temperature applications that require durability and strength. Not only does the 321 stainless steel sheet perform well in high-temperature environments, but it is also incredibly malleable, making it easy to form and weld. This versatility allows the 321 stainless steel plate to be fabricated into various products like pipes, fittings, fasteners, and flanges.

The standard for ASTM A240 321 stainless steel plate is set in place for its manufacturing. To ensure that the standard is met with precision, the material needs to go through stringent quality checks. The plate is made of high-quality steel, which makes it resistant to corrosion and abrasion. It exhibits excellent tensile strength and durability, which makes it an ideal choice for various industrial applications. The manufacturing procedures follow strict guidelines, ensuring that every plate meets the prescribed standards. If you are looking for a reliable and strong steel plate, then ASTM A240 321 stainless steel plate is an excellent choice.
  • ASTM A240: Product Specification: Chromium and Chromium-Nickel Stainless Steel Plate, Sheet, and Strip for Pressure Vessels and General Applications
This specification outlines the requirements for the manufacture and use of chromium and chromium-nickel stainless steel plates, sheets, and strips. These materials are specifically designed to be used in pressure vessels as well as for general applications.
Chromium and chromium-nickel stainless steel are renowned for their exceptional corrosion resistance properties. These alloys contain chromium as the primary alloying element, which provides excellent resistance to oxidizing and reducing environments. Nickel is added to enhance the overall resistance to corrosion and to improve strength and toughness.
The plates, sheets, and strips manufactured under this specification are produced through a process that involves melting and refining the raw materials to achieve the desired chemical composition and mechanical properties. The steel is then hot rolled, cold rolled, or annealed depending on the specific application requirements.
The mechanical properties of the stainless steel plates, sheets, and strips must meet the designated specifications, including tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and hardness. These properties ensure the materials can withstand the pressures experienced in pressure vessels and maintain their structural integrity.
In addition to mechanical properties, the chemical composition of the stainless steel must also adhere to the specified limits. The presence of chromium and nickel in the alloy is crucial for enhancing corrosion resistance, while other elements such as carbon, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, and nitrogen are controlled to meet the desired material characteristics.
Furthermore, the surface finish and dimensions of the plates, sheets, and strips must conform to the given requirements. This ensures uniformity and compatibility in various applications.
The material is thoroughly tested during the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with the specified standards. Various tests, including chemical analysis, mechanical testing, and surface examination, are performed to verify the quality and integrity of the products.
Overall, this specification provides a comprehensive guideline for the production and use of chromium and chromium-nickel stainless steel plates, sheets, and strips. By meeting the specified requirements, these materials offer exceptional corrosion resistance and mechanical properties, making them suitable for pressure vessels and various general applications.

321 Stainless Steel Plate Anti-Sensitization:
ASTM A240 UNS S32100 plates contain at least five times more titanium than carbon to overcome the tendency to sensitize during welding. The corrosion resistance of 321 stainless steel is similar to that of 304 stainless steel, but 321 stainless steel performs better in the sensitization range of 800℉-1650℉. In the 321 stainless steel strip, titanium oxide or carbonitride will form tiny black or dark gray inclusions. When the metal is ground or polished, these inclusions can appear and spoil the surface appearance without compromising the utility or machinability of the metal and are beneficial for wear resistance.

Stainless Steel Plate 321 Heat Resistance:
DIN 1.4541 stainless steel plate not only has corrosion resistance, but also has the advantages of heat resistance, processability, strength and appearance. AISI 321 plate is non-magnetic and heat resistant for continuous use at high temperatures, the alloy resists oxidation to 1500°F (816°C) and has higher creep and stress rupture properties than alloys 304 and 304L. At the same time, alloy 321 stainless steel coil is also conducive to high temperature service due to its good mechanical properties.
